Finding support can be confusing or complicated but you have made a huge step in exploring what this can look like. Did you know that parental concern is one of the most important factors we look at in deciding if children should get an assessment? This is because YOU know your child best. If you feel worried, concerned, are noticing specific issues, or even just feel like something is “off”, it is a great time to have a chat with us. We won’t give your child therapy if it is unnecessary, but we believe getting a professional opinion is a great decision at any age.
This is an important question that many families want to know. The truth is, it really depends on each child and their needs. Sometimes only a couple of sessions are needed, sometimes it is a longer therapy relationship. The important thing to know is that the amount of therapy sessions is always up to you! We will give you our recommendations and insights, but you are never forced to continue to have more sessions. Our goal is to provide each child with high quality support that is positive, effective, and builds confidence.
Language = WHAT you say (grammar, vocabulary, sentence length)Speech = HOW you say it (all the tiny sounds we use to speak)Communication = ALL of the above and more (social skills, turn taking, body language)We can help support all of these areas!
